This Sunday we look to Jesus who transgresses (goes across) the lines and boundaries which separate--Gentile and Jew, illness and health, even death to life. This same God crosses over to us and lifts us up in new life.

We gather this weekend for worship and hear of the in-breaking reign of God--with images of a mighty tree, scattered seeds, and the mustard seed. All point to a God who takes root in unexpected ways and creates a place of hope and new life for the people. On this weekend we also take the opportunity to bless the high school graduates. As we usher in the summer season, we are partnering with Lutheran Outdoor Ministries who are providing the liturgy, sermon, and music for today's worship. This is a great opportunity to sing along with camp songs, see a variety of Lutheran Outdoor Ministry sites across the country, and experience the gift of being part of the broader church. On May 26th, we had a memorial service for Ruth Herz, long time member of St. Michael's. Thank you for all who participated in this worship service as we remembered with gratitude and grief our friend Ruth. |
