Worship

The Pastors and staff of St. Michael’s have been in faithful prayer and conversation about COVID-19 and our communal response. We want each other to be well, and we want to be connected. Which is why worship has moved online here.

We encourage you to watch/listen to the video worship experience updated each week. You can follow along with prayers and scripture readings which will be provided in a PDF link.  Additional resources for reflection will also be posted. We encourage you to explore these resources to deepen your experience.

We are also offering in-person outdoor worship while the weather is agreeable. We gather at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. on the East lawn near the Fellowship Hall entrance.

In Person Worship - What to Expect
Fall 2020 & Spring 2021-As weather permits
Our hope is to resume indoor worship when it is deemed safe.

We will gather for outdoor worship on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and Mondays at 7:00 p.m.

Worship will be less than 40 minutes, with no congregational singing, and 6’ or more social distancing.

Should weather be an issue, we will strive to post any updates on the St. Michael’s Facebook page and send out a congregational email an hour before the service.

Gathering safely is the priority for our in-person worship gathering.
Therefore, we will follow the following safety procedures:
  • If you are able, register online prior to attending worship. Registration is available on our homepage.
  • We ask that anyone who drives uses either Eldridge Avenue (on the south end of the parking lot) or Midlothian Road (on the west side of the parking lot). The Fry street entrance will be closed so that it minimizes cross traffic between cards and pedestrians.
  • Plan to wear face masks, and bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets if possible. Some seating will be provided.
  • Finally, it may be tempting to want to give hugs, take off masks and chat, or simply be in close proximity to people you haven’t seen for a while. Do your best to follow the guidelines and hopefully we will be able to continue to keep seeing everyone for many more weeks of worship.
