2021 Build Update:
This year we will be working on a renovation of an existing home in White Bear Lake. This house was acquired by Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity through purchase on the open market. The work mainly will be interior work including renovating the kitchen, gutting the basement, and adding a bathroom in the basement. There will also be some exterior site work.
Online Sign-up:
If you did not volunteer in 2020, please watch our short volunteer video. Once you have watched the video and feel comfortable volunteering you may sign-up online. All volunteers must sign-up here http://holyhammers.tchabitat.volunteerhub.com/ before the build. See the attachment for general instructions on logging in or creating an account. If you have difficulty remembering your username or password, please contact Dave Yarusso daveyarusso@gmail.com. Once you are logged in, you will be able to sign up for a date.
Note: you can switch between list view and calendar view using the icons on the right just under the banner window at the top. Click on the bold text on a date you would like to volunteer. This will bring up a window for that date showing how many open slots remain. If you click on the MORE link, you will see more details and instructions. If you scan to the bottom of that page, you can see the first names and last initials of others who are already signed up for that date. Click on the Sign Up button to sign up for that day. At that point you will be prompted to answer COVID-19 questions, enter emergency contact information, and complete a liability waiver if one is not already on file for you. At the bottom of the page is a NEXT button and finally a FINISH button. When you complete the process you will see a Registration Complete notice and you will receive a confirmation email.

- Volunteer Guidelines (Attached)
- Covid-19 Safety Guidelines
Important highlights:
- We are requiring (and providing) PPE. Masks will be required at all times and work gloves will be required in certain circumstances. We ask volunteers to bring their own mask, but we’ll provide masks for those who don’t bring them.
- Bring work gloves if you wish to use them during the build. All sites will have them available for use.
- We will have handwashing stations (even on sites without running water) for frequent use throughout the day.
- Volunteers will be asked to limit sharing tools when possible.
- Volunteers must wear a sturdy, closed-toe, closed-heel shoe to participate (tennis shoes or work boots work great).
- Please bring a few filled water bottles, we will have single-use plastic water bottles on site.
- Lunch is not provided by Habitat. If your group is not providing lunch, please bring your own. Volunteers are discouraged from leaving the site for lunch.
- We are asking that groups either bring their own lunch or order prepackaged (boxed) lunches. If you need help finding a local restaurant to order from please let us know.
- Youth under the age of 16 are not allowed on-site. If you will have any 16 or 17-year-olds on-site, they must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older.
