Abundant Life Confirmation Retreat
January 14 - 16
Each year, confirmation students attend a retreat to explore healthy relationships and sexuality through a lens of faith. This is a required retreat each year.
Held at Camp Wapo in Amery Wisconsin, the retreat is a collaborative effort between multiple Lutheran Churches in the Twin Cities and is led by a trained sex educator and local pastors, along with adult chaperones from each church. The retreats offer different content for each year. Topics will rotate so youth will experience a different theme each year – one year will focus on “Faith and Sexuality” with workshops on sex and the Bible, language and anatomy of sexuality, gender identity, sexual orientation, and addressing personal concerns about puberty.
