Join us for this virtual Religion in Life presentation entitled “Mapping Prejudice" by Kirsten Delegard, PhD, historian and co-founder of Mapping Prejudice, a project that seeks to visualize the hidden histories of race and privilege in Minnesota. This week, we welcome Rev. Mark Hanson to Online Religion in Life. Rev. Hanson is the founding Director of Interfaith at Augsburg: An Institute to Promote Inter-Religious Leadership, where he leads Augsburg University's work in interfaith leadership as a core commitment to their academic mission. Rev. Mark Hanson served as the ELCA's Presiding Bishop from 2001 - 2013, and was a faith-based advisory council to President Obama. Before being elected as ELCA Presiding Bishop, he served as bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod. Rev. Mark Hanson is also the former president of the Lutheran World Federation, and author of, "Faithful Yet Changing: The Church in Challenging Times" Today Rev. Mark Hanson will share a presentation titled, "Called to be Neighbors: Diversity and Pluralism". This week we welcome Abigal Abele, Community Engagement Coordinator of St. Stephen's Human Services to share with us, "A Day in the Life: Education, Community, Engagement, and Advocacy for those experiencing homelessness." This week we welcome Dr. Lois Malcolm, professor of Systematic Theology from Luther Seminary to discuss Forgiveness in the Bible. Today's presentation is part of the Guatemala Friends Zoom Conversation offered by the Guatemala Committee of the Saint Paul Area Synod and facilitated by Joel McDermott, Chair and recorded on February 6, 2021 Celebrate Valentines Day this week's presentation by Dr. Cameron Howard of Luther Seminary. Dr. Howard will teach us about love stories in the Old Testament. This week in Religion in Life we welcome Elena Geiger-Simpson, a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner in Minneapolis to discuss mental health and anxiety.
