Holy Week at St. Michael's
Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday recalls Jesus' final entry into Jerusalem prior to his crucifixion. Crowds gathered around him waving palm branches and shouting, "Hosanna!"
Worship will be held on April 13 at 10:00 a.m. Worship will begin with a Palm Sunday processional starting in the Fellowship Hall and leading into the Sanctuary. If you'd like to participate in the processional, meet in the Fellowship Hall at the start of worship. Otherwise, you can begin worship in the Sanctuary as you wait the processional to arrive. Worship will include the sacrament of Holy Communion. |
Maundy ThursdayThe term “Maundy” comes from the Latin “mandatum;” it is from a verb that means to give or command. After Jesus and the disciples finished the Last Supper and walked toward Gethsemane, Jesus taught them a new commandment — “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34).
Maundy Thursday worship will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 12:00 p.m. in the Courtyard Room, and 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be served at both worship services, as well as the opportunity to have your feet or hands washed. |
Good Friday
This night we reflect on Jesus' seven last word's during his crucifixion.
Good Friday worship will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary on April 18 |
