Confirmation Ministry
St. Michael’s confirmation ministry is a journey of self-discovery, deepening faith, and building authentic relationships with other youth and trusted adults in the congregation. The three years of confirmation (grades 7-9) are a time of learning and preparation for the Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation service) in the fall of their 10th grade year, when young people claim for themselves the faith in which they were baptized. Our confirmation ministry is designed to help young people understand that they live each day in the embrace of God's grace and love for them.

Service in the Community
During our normal programming, confirmation students are expected to serve with their confirmation mentor at least 4 times a year. However, due to the pandemic, in-person gatherings are limited. There may be some opportunities to serve together, but the volunteering requirement has been lifted for 2020-2021. Past service ideas included:

Confirmation Mentoring
Each confirmation student is paired with either an adult in their life such as a godparent, neighbor, etc. or a trusted adult in the congregation for their three years of confirmation. In previous years, mentor nights have included:

Youth engaging in leadership opportunities in the congregation and community is an important part of our confirmation program. Worship Leadership Youth are encouraged to lead in worship!
