What has been a milestone in your life this week? 


A milestone can be something exciting or mundane that is taking a part in your life.  It can be something as simple as having a good breakfast in the morning, failing a driver's test, to rocking it out on a test! Every time at Youth Group, we'll share these with everyone. See you today at 11:00am? Link can be found on this page! 

- How do you know if you're following the truth and life of Jesus? Is it possible to know this? 
- What does this mean for you today? The church today?
- How is this timely, especially during a time when some churches may want to be gathering in worship together already?
- What do you wonder about the text?
- What words stick out to you? ​

Read the following scripture twice. The first time through listen for a word or phrase that sticks out to you. The second time, think of a question that you would want to ask Jesus or the disciples. 

Luke 24: 13-25
​Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them, ‘What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?’ They stood still, looking sad. Then one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered him, ‘Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have taken place there in these days?’ He asked them, ‘What things?’ They replied, ‘The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how our chief priests and leaders handed him over to be condemned to death and crucified him. But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things took place. Moreover, some women of our group astounded us. They were at the tomb early this morning, and when they did not find his body there, they came back and told us that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who said that he was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but they did not see him.’ Then he said to them, ‘Oh, how foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have declared! Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?’ Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things about himself in all the scriptures.
As they came near the village to which they were going, he walked ahead as if he were going on. But they urged him strongly, saying, ‘Stay with us, because it is almost evening and the day is now nearly over.’ So he went in to stay with them. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?’ That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven and their companions gathered together. They were saying, ‘The Lord has risen indeed, and he has appeared to Simon!’ Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

- What would you want to ask Jesus about through the scripture?
- How do you think you would have reacted, if you were the disciples?
- What do you wonder about, with this Scripture?
- How is the scripture still important for us today?

I think it's easy to believe that we're like sailboats floating onto the next island, or thing in our lives. Know that you're not alone and that it's okay to not know where we're going. Or what's next. 

The sun will continue to shine. The rain will still come. Growth will still take place.

- How can having doubt help you? 
- Do we need answers to everything? 
- What does having doubt mean, for Christians? People in the United States. People in Minnesota? You in your studies? ​

1: Write a card of peace to someone you don't want to give peace to. Then place it in your dresser, bedside table, or hidden in a yearbook from a couple years ago. 
2: Go through your neighborhood with chalk and create messages and art that shows that we do not live life alone. 

On Sundays at around 1:00pm, Jon will go on Instagram to do a check-in activity.

Luke 10:5-9 (The Voice Translation)
When you enter a house seeking lodging, say, “Peace on this house!” If a child of peace—one who welcomes God’s message of peace—is there, your peace will rest on him. If not, don’t worry; nothing is wasted. Stay where you’re welcomed. Become part of the family, eating and drinking whatever they give you. You’re My workers, and you deserve to be cared for. Again, don’t go from house to house, but settle down in a town and eat whatever they serve you. Heal the sick and say to the townspeople, “The kingdom of God has come near to you."

3: ​Print out and color the following palm leaf to be included in next Sunday's Online Worship as we celebrate Palm Sunday! Once you have your palm leaf colored. Take a photo of the leaf and yourself in it! Then please send the photo to Jon by Tuesday, March 31 so we can have it included in the Palm Sunday Worship Service.
