St. Michael's is a leader among congregations in providing support for the ministry of the St. Paul Area Synod of the ELCA and the national Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Members provide substantial financial support for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal and many make an annual pledge to the ELCA Disaster Relief program so that whenever a disaster takes place in the United States or around the world we have resources to offer immediate help.

St. Michael's is also involved in providing financial support and every other month sends volunteers to Global Health Ministries to sort and pack medical supplies to be sent overseas to various medical relief agencies.

Microlending   St. Michael's has also recently started a microlending group which meets quarterly to share an ethnic supper, make new loans and discuss ways we might make an impact for good in the world. The group is currently using Kiva to identify potential entrepreneurs around the globe and provide loans to help them reach self-sufficiency in providing for their families.
